The draw for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup has been finalized, and PSG now knows the teams they will face in this expanded tournament.

A revamped format for global competition

The Club World Cup has undergone a significant transformation, now featuring 32 teams from around the world in an effort to create a more competitive and captivating international tournament. PSG, having been placed in Pot 1 as one of the top-seeded teams, leads Group B after the draw.

Their group includes familiar opposition, with Atlético Madrid—whom PSG recently faced in a dramatic UEFA Champions League encounter—joining them.

Also in the group are the Copa Libertadores champions, Botafogo, and the Seattle Sounders, the MLS representatives. Group B is shaping up to be one of the toughest, showcasing elite talent from across the globe.

PSG’s path in Group B

PSG enters the tournament as the group favorite, but the road to advancing will be challenging.

Each opponent brings unique strengths: Atlético Madrid’s tactical resilience, Botafogo’s South American flair, and Seattle Sounders’ solid team dynamic.

For PSG, overcoming these hurdles will require a level of consistency and quality that has been elusive in recent months.

Preparing for 2025

As the competition looms, PSG’s focus will be on addressing their current struggles.

The hope is that by the time the tournament begins, head coach Luis Enrique will have resolved the team’s issues and instilled a more cohesive playing style.

Until then, the Club World Cup serves as a reminder of PSG’s ambitions and the challenges they must overcome to truly solidify their status on the global stage.
