PSG boss Luis Enrique announces transfer market plans after Champions League triumph
PSG head coach Luis Enrique addressed his team’s plans for the upcoming transfer window after winning the Champions League title.
Speaking in the post-match press conference (via Le10Sport) after beating Arsenal in the Champions League final on Saturday evening, Luis Enrique was quick to let everyone know about PSG’s recruitment plans. He said: “It’s a new chapter. We’ll stick to our plan.”
PSG have been linked with numerous players from around Europe in the last few days, in the lead-up to the Champions League final. However, the club’s sporting director Luis Campos had put them off by claiming that they will not be proceeding with any new transfer or contract renewals until they are done with their season.
While the media expected the Spanish manager to be a bit more elaborate about Paris Saint-Germain’s plans to bring in new faces, Enrique urged calmness and restraint. The three-time Champions League-winning manager said, “We don’t need many players because it’s very difficult to integrate into PSG. We’ll work on the future, but there’s no rush. We’ll need new players to have more options, but we already have a very good squad. We’ll take it one step at a time.”
PSG are expected to part ways with some of their members from the current squad, including the likes of Bradley Barcola, Goncalo Ramos, Lucas Chevalier, Lee Kang-In, Lucas Hernandez and Ibrahim Mbaye. An exodus of this group of players will certainly trigger the European champions to put their mark on the transfer market.
