RB Leipzig sensation gives personal approval for PSG transfer

RB Leipzig forward Yan Diomande has reportedly given the 'green light' to PSG for initiating negotiations for a possible summer move.

RB Leipzig forward Yan Diomande has expressed a desire to join PSG ahead of the summer transfer window.

According to sources contacted by Foot Mercato, Leipzig’s Yan Diomande has given his approval to join PSG this summer. Les Parisiens’ sporting director Luis Campos has returned to work mode after celebrating the Champions League title with the fans and players yesterday.

With Khvicha Kvaratsekhelia and Bradley Barcola preferring to play left-wing, and Ousmane Dembele featuring as a regular central forward, the right wing remains the only area devoid of players in the case of Desire Doue’s absence. Lee Kang-In is expected to leave the club in the coming days, and therefore, head coach Luis Enrique will need an adequate replacement soon.

Diomande is closely followed by Bayern Munich, but he has not shown much interest in joining the Bundesliga champions. Liverpool remain an outside shot in the race to land the 19-year-old. Despite being the singular serious club in the race, PSG will not overpay for any player, and the same goes for the Ivorian international.

Leipzig have a huge leverage on him since Diomande has a contract with the German side until the summer of 2030. They might be tempted to ask for a figure of around €100 million. It is a staggering asking price for a player yet to prove his credentials on the big stage, and if PSG offer a lesser price, the situation could see Liverpool get back into the race since they are searching hard to find Mohamed Salah’s successor.
