While they have played well in domestic matches, PSG has not gotten off to the start they wanted in Europe. They currently sit 25th in the Champions League table, which would not get them through to the knockouts.
It is not surprising that with this disappointing run of form, the club is going to look to add players this January.
A recent report from L’Equipe outlined what these January plans could look like, and I will speculate as to which players could potentially be moving to the French capital this month.
PSG wants to attract multiple players
With the report from L’Equipe, it appears that PSG wants multiple new signings this month.
It is likely that they will spread these around, with both attackers and defenders needed.
The players who might leave all have ties to different clubs. Randal Kolo Muani to England and Italy, Marco Asensio to Spain and England, and Milan Skriniar to Turkey and England.
Who could be some of the new signings?
The main signing to look out for is Napoli’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. Based on reports coming out, the Georgian winger joining PSG this window seems incredibly likely.
Porto’s Rodrigo Mora is a name to keep an eye on, but it does not seem very likely he will be playing for PSG soon. While PSG has been linked with him, it seems that if he were to sign for PSG he might be loaned right back to Portugal to get more time to develop.
The final name in the attack is Jhon Duran. There have been links with PSG, including a rumor they could give Aston Villa one of the players they are trying to get off the books.
There are fewer concrete names in the defense and midfield, but a right-footed center back could be something to watch for, with Marquinhos and Skriniar being the only ones the club has.
