PSG’s Luis Campos stalls new transfers and contract extension talks till Champions League final

PSG's director of football, Luis Campos has decided to halt all contract extension for squad members till the UCL final against Arsenal.

Luis Campos, the director of football at PSG, has issued a statement that has put a stall to all transfer rumours and contract extensions regarding the French side, at least till the UEFA Champions League concludes in Budapest with the final against English side Arsenal.

According to RMC Sport, in an interview given to beIN Sport after PSG clinched their 14th Ligue 1 title in the game against RC Lens, Campos said, “It’s good for PSG, the rumors. It means that we are a big club and that everyone wants to join or that everyone wants to use our name in the transfer market.”

He continued, “For us, regarding the transfer window, and this is a decision we made with our coach and the president, our transfer activity has been completely halted for several weeks. We know very well who our targets are in the near future, but we haven’t budged an inch on the transfer front. The names circulating are purely speculation. Our ambition is to reach May 30th motivated, with everyone fully committed and focused on this. We want to do everything we can to maintain our positive momentum. I’ve been told that a victory in the final could be historic for everyone. Our intention is to arrive at the final in top form, and then we’ll see, but for now, we haven’t moved an inch.”

It is worth noting that PSG have stalled contract extension talks with several of their key players, including stars Ousmane Dembélé, Bradley Barcola, Lee Kang-In, and Senny Mayulu. The Ligue 1 champions are also probing a potential move for Argentine forward Julian Alvarez to the Parc Des Princes in the upcoming summer transfer window. However, everything will find concrete movement after the end of this month.
