PSG: Club looking to sign youngster, receives a negative response
PSG are looking to make a mark on the transfer market as they continue their search for a young replacement for Bradley Barcola
PSG are definitely going to enter the summer transfer market looking to make some statement signings. The importance of making these signings will be further emphasised by the fact that several players are reported to exit the club over the summer, which includes the likes of Bradley Barcola and Lee Kang-In. In particular, the departure of the former would necessitate the signing of a young winger, and Ivory Coast international Yan Diomandé is the current target for PSG to fill the shoes of Barcola, as reported by Le10Sport.
However, as per reports by TEAMtalk, Diomandé’s current club, RB Leipzig, with whom he has a contract until June 2030, are unwilling to part ways with the player, especially at his current value of €100 million. The 19-year-old’s value is expected to go up to even €150 million over the summer, and RB Leipzig will definitely be wanting to sell him at this inflated price tag if they indeed have to part ways with him. Diomandé will also not be in any rush to decide upon his future, given the fact that he still has four years left on his current contract.
The signing of Diomandé, in addition to the hurdles posed by RB Leipzig, may also face some opposition from within PSG; Sporting Director Luis Campos, who has consistently been against overpaying players, may be unwilling to spend such a high amount on a 19-year-old playing in the Bundesliga.
In addition to signing Diomandé, PSG have several other players in their view, including the likes of Maghnes Akliouche, Julian Alvarez, and Eli Junior Kroupi. The summer transfer market will definitely prove to be a very busy one for Luis Enrique, Luis Campos and Nasser Al-Khelaifi.
