Star-studded stand: PSG summon club legends for Champions League final
PSG have invited at least 30 of their club legends for the Champions League final against Arsnal in Budapest on May 30.
PSG are to have the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, David Beckham, Javier Pastore, Ronaldinho and Pedro Miguel Pauleta are set to grace the stands at the Puskas Arena in Budapest to show their support for their former club, as per a report by So Foot.
Announcing the invitees for the match, an official confirmation from PSG read, “the continuity of the Paris Saint-Germain project, the passing of the torch between generations, and the history of a club that has, chapter by chapter, carved out its place on the European stage.”
In addition to the legends of World Football, Paris Saint-Germain have also gone forward to invite former players like Daniel Ljuboja, Blaise Matuidi, and Milan Biševac, Clément Chantôme, Laurent Leroy, and Fabrice Pancrate to the legends box.
Apart from their past stars, Les Parisiens will have several academy players in the stands, including Didier Domi, Boukary Drame, Amara Simba and Mamadou Sakho amongst others. Meanwhile, Presnel Kimpembe has been declared as PSG’s ambassador for the Champions League final, as the academy graduate and former defender takes centre stage for the Parisian entourage in Budapest this weekend.
PSG will hope to clinch back-to-back European silverware after lifting their first Champions League trophy last season, thanks to a 5-0 scoreline against Inter Milan. This time, it is against The Gunners, who arrive to the game in red hot form following their first Premier League triumph in 22 years.
