PSG set their sights on €93 million West Ham midfielder as Arsenal and Manchester United prowl

Ligue 1 giants PSG have identified West Ham United’s Mateus Fernandes as a potential summer signing amidst Arsenal and Manchester United interest. According to a report by Daily Mail via Foot Mercato, PSG will need to put at least a figure of around €93 million to initiate negotiations with West Ham. While the player remains adamant on leaving the club this summer, as The Hammerers suffered relegation from the Premier League, Paris Saint-Germain will aim to use the situation to counter with a lower price. The 21-year-old Portuguese midfielder has not established himself as a top-notch player, and clubs like Arsenal, Man United and PSG will not break the bank to secure him. Fernandes is under contract with West Ham until 2030 and was not even called up by Roberto Martinez for his Portugal squad for the World Cup 2026. Meanwhile, PSG sporting director Luis Campos has reiterated that the Paris-based club will not enter into concrete talks on new signings or contract renewals till the conclusion of their Champions League final against The Gunners. He said: “It’s good for PSG, the rumours. It means we’re a big club and everyone wants to join us or use our name in the transfer market. For us, regarding the transfer window—and this is a decision we made with our coach and the president—our transfer activity has been completely halted for several weeks. We know very well who our targets are in the near future, but we haven’t budged an inch on the transfer front. The names circulating are just speculation, because our ambition is to reach May 30th motivated and with everyone fully committed and focused on that.”
