Lokomotiv Moscow star guarantees midfielder’s impending PSG mega move

Lokomotiv Moscow captain and goalkeeper Anton Mitryushkin confirms his midfielder’s interest in joining PSG.

Speaking to Legalbet (via Foot Mercato), the Lokomotiv skipper revealed information about links between midfielder Aleksey Batrakov and PSG, giving traction to this latest development yet to be received in France. He said: “We hope everything goes well! We don’t comment on rumours within the team, but of course, everyone hopes so. A transfer to PSG would be a blessing for everyone. I am absolutely certain that Batrakov will join PSG“

Paris Saint-Germain are believed to be keeping this operation behind the scenes for now to not stir anything amongst the squad ahead of the Champions League final on May 30 against Arsenal. The Ligue 1 giants have also sent a representative to Moscow to scout the 20-year-old Russian international.

PSG hope to enter the Russian football market again after securing the services of Matvei Safonov from FC Krasnodar in 2024. Batrakov has been playing for Lokomotiv for the last three seasons and has consistently performed for the side. Last season would go down as his best to date, during which he netted 13 times and registered 10 assists across 28 league matches.

Apart from Batrakov, the French side have initiated primary contacts with CSKA Moscow to potentially secure the signing of Matvey Kislyak, as per an earlier report. However, no concrete talks between the two clubs have taken place and the interest can be understood as a preliminary one.

PSG are hoping for a quiet window, but they will enter the market if some of their own players leave.
