Milan’s Alessandro Longoni ‘close’ to joining PSG
Milan youngster Alessandro Longoni is now set to join PSG on a permanent transfer soon.
According to a report by L’Equipe via Foot Mercato, PSG are ready to welcome Milan’s U-20 goalkeeper Alessandro Longoni to their side after handing him his first professional contract.
This project, envisioned by PSG, is close to centring Renato Marin, who served as the third-choice goalkeeper throughout last season. The Milan man perfectly fits the profile of a young goalkeeper within the Les Parisiens’ ranks, and he has already shone in various matches in his club career to date across several levels.
He made a notable contribution during the U16 Championship final victory in 2024 against Atalanta, and then the Coppa Italia Primavera final versus Cagliari in 2025. More than his former impressions, Luis Enrique liked the player’s skill at ball distribution and the ability to hold the ball at his feet without panicking.
PSG’s second-choice goalie, Lucas Chevalier’s future is up in the air, as Matvei Safonov has risen in the ranks, and there is a possibility for the Parisian club to go for Porto’s Diogo Costa. If they sign the Portuguese, it will be a tough phase for Chevalier to get minutes, but it will open up the scope for the young goalkeepers to develop and challenge the hierarchy.
Paris Saint-Germain’s scouts have been monitoring the progress of Longoni for months now, and finally, they have been satisfied enough to proceed with the transfer. PSG also announced on Thursday the signing of trainee contracts to Wassim Slama and Toumani Diagouraga, both from the U19 generation
