PSG: Big signing in queue; announcement to be made soon
PSG, on Saturday, will play their second consecutive UEFA Champions League final in Budapest, Hungary, against Premier League champions Arsenal. After the completion of this season with this game, the club from the French capital are, as reported by Le10Sport, looking to make some big announcements, which likely include something about their manager, 56-year-old Spaniard Luis Enrique.
Luis Enrique, who joined the first team of PSG as manager back in 2023, won the club their first-ever UEFA Champions League title and a continental treble in the 2024-25 season. Since he arrived in the French capital, the Spaniard has completely transformed the side, making it into a cohesive unit based on cooperation, rather than on individual abilities of players.
Now, if reports by Le10Sport are to be believed, PSG and Luis Enrique have now reached a verbal agreement to sign a contract that would tie the two-time treble-winning manager to the club till 2030. Journalist Laurent Perrin, in a Q&A session for Le Parisien, said, “Luis Enrique is staying no matter what. He should even extend his contract until 2030 quite soon; all parties are in agreement, only the signatures are missing.”
Enrique’s current contract, which is set to expire in 2026, has so far been very fruitful for PSG. As such, there should be no qualms within the club as regards to continuing their association with the Spaniard. Enrique will also not be keen on leaving the club so soon after experiencing such admiration from fans and his players alike.
