Luis Enrique’s squad became dependent on Vitinha’s play

Vitinha’s entry in the second half was crucial for PSG. The Portuguese transformed the game, creating great opportunities and giving the team a breath of fresh air.

As the brain of the midfield, in 45 minutes, SofaScore shows us the Portuguese’s stats. Vitinha recorded 76 touches of the ball and completed 90% of his passes, standing out as the most influential player in the Parisian attack.

Vitinha is the most important player for PSG, being the player who initiates the dangerous plays game after game, being that first pass that opens the field of play.

For now, Luis Enrique should think about how to handle the next games, due to the moment that they live without being a dangerous team.

Did the absences play a bad trick on PSG?

The absence of figures like Marquinhos, Ousmane DembΓ©lΓ© and Achraf Hakimi underlined the excessive confidence of PSG, which almost cost them the game.

This left great unknowns in the team and it will be essential to work on the defensive part and the defense-attack transitions in training.

The match, which was close to being an upset, was finally resolved in the final minutes, allowing PSG to advance to the round of 16 of the Coupe de France.
