No contact from PSG for Real Madrid’s Federico Valverde despite transfer speculations
PSG have not contacted Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde over a possible transfer this summer.
A recent update from RMC Sport via Foot Mercato has ditched an earlier report from El Chiringuito TV claiming that Paris Saint-Germain are in concrete talks with the Uruguayan international for a potential summer transfer.
The 27-year-old was involved in a heated altercation with Real Madrid teammate and former Monaco man Aurรฉlien Tchouameni in training. However, both players denied rumours of a physical assault, and news surrounding Valverde’s departure could have stemmed from this event.
PSG do not consider the midfielder to suit their current needs, and they have significant depth in that area. Furthermore, a permanent transfer for the highly-rated engine room man would mean breaking the bank for the French giants.
The players PSG have in midfield, and who are they going for next?
PSG have the likes of Warren Zaรฏre-Emery, Vitinha, Joรฃo Neves, Fabiรกn Ruiz, and Senny Mayulu in the same role as Valverde’s at the Santiago Bernabรฉu. While the Peรฑarol youth graduate is widely known for his versatility and acumen to play equally well when deployed as a central midfielder, defensive midfielder, and often as a right full-back since the times of Carlo Ancelotti.
Luis Enrique’s side are right now focusing on their pursuit to land the signing of Julian Alvarez from Atletico Madrid during this upcoming transfer window. They are set to face major competition from LaLiga champions Barcelona, as the Blaugrana come with replenished financial resources following their Champions League run till the quarters and the league title win.
It remains to be seen which players PSG go for next.
