PSG progress in their pursuit of AS Monaco’s Maghnes Akliouche
PSG are progressing behind the scenes in the race to sign Monaco's Maghnes Akliouche
PSG are believed to be on track to finally complete the signing of AS Monaco star Maghnes Akliouche, as per a report by Le10Sport.
The player, an attacking midfielder capable of playing as a winger, has been on the target for the side from the French capital for two years now, and this summer transfer window could finally be the moment that a deal materialises.
Akliouche was all set to join PSG last summer as well, with a reported fee of €70 million. However, the deal fell apart in the final stages, and the French youngster ended up staying at Monaco, his boyhood club. Akliouche suffered a dip in form after the deal collapsed, but he has since rediscovered his form during these final stages of the current season, which coincided with international duty with the French national team in the United States of America during the international break in March. This situation has again reignited interest from PSG, who are set to go all-in for the 24-year-old.
The signing of the young attacking midfielder will definitely be a priority for Luis Campos. The club held a meeting in the Middle East a few weeks ago to discuss the prospects of signing the youngster, and the deal was made a priority. However, it remains to be seen whether a deal finally materialises, and for what fee, or if it falls apart once again. However, looking at the side that PSG currently have, Akliouche can prove to be a very interesting addition to the squad.
