PSG ready to pounce: Julian Alvarez sparks Atlético Madrid exit rumors amidst Barcelona and Arsenal interest

Atletico Madrid sporting director Mateu Alemany wants to make Julian Alvarez the biggest sale of the summer as PSG, Arsenal and Barcelona loom

Atletico Madrid open their doors for Julian Alvarez as PSG, Arsenal and Barcelona line up bids.

According to a report by Cadena SER via Foot Mercato, Atletico Madrid sporting director Mateu Alemany wants to make the Argentine their biggest sale of the summer, who current release clause is set at €500 million. While he won’t be leaving the club at such a price, the interest from PSG, Arsenal and fellow league rivals Barca is set to become a huge leverage for Los Colchoneros to extract a sizeable value.

PSG are confident of matching any price tag set by La Liga side alongside Arsenal, who are ready to battle it out with the French giants. As for the Catalans, they are waiting for a green light from Alvarez since it is financially impossible for them to compete against two other clubs with huge resources.

On Onda Cero, journalist David Bernabeu Reverter commented on Barcelona’s potential fight with PSG for the former Manchester City forward. He said: “If he wants to go to Barça, he’ll have to take a stand internally and accept a pay cut, because PSG will make him a more attractive offer. But they haven’t ruled out that possibility yet… At Barça, they’re saying there won’t be a bidding war with Paris Saint-Germain.”

PSG might be on the verge of losing Bradley Barcola to Liverpool soon as The Merseyside club has stepped up their efforts to seal the player before the World Cup. He could depart for an expected €95 million deal, and this money will be available to use in the transaction for Alvarez from Atletico Madrid.
