PSG hits roadblock in pursuit of Manchester United and Arsenal targets

Striker is certainly a question mark at PSG. Randal Kolo Muani could leave the club in the January window, and Goncalo Ramos has not shown enough where they can be completely confident in him as the starter.

This has led to some fans calling PSG for a new signing, but according to new reports from Arthur Perrot, those fans will not get their wish.

He mentions three strikers but says all are unlikely for different reasons.

Luis Enrique will not budge on Victor Osimhen

In the 2024 summer, it looked very likely that Victor Osimhen would be coming to Paris. However, Luis Enrique blocked the deal for the former Napoli star as he doesn’t fit the style of football the Spaniard wants.

Osimhen ended up being loaned to Galatasaray. PSG is close to making another deal with Galatasaray, but reports suggest they won’t make one for Osimhen. Recently, the Nigerian striker was also linked to Manchester United.

As quoted by Canal Supporters, Perrot said that PSG has made contact with the Nigerian’s entourage again, but Luis Enrique has once again refused to greenlight the move.

So far, Osimhen has gotten off to a strong start in Turkey and rebounded from his rough 2023-24 campaign. He has 12 goals in 15 matches, a similar goalscoring record to his career year he had in 2022-23.

PSG is not making contact with Viktor Gyokeres or Dusan Vlahovic

The two other names Perrot mentioned were Sporting’s Viktor Gyokeres and Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic, but his report shot down both of those potential moves.

Gyokeres is one of the hottest names in football right now, scoring 70 goals in 77 matches since moving to Portugal in June 2023.

He has been on fire in the Champions League as well, answering any questions on if he can play against the top competition.

Perrot says that PSG has no plans to go after him at the moment.

It’s worth noting that not long ago, Viktor Gyokeres was linked to Manchester United, and Vlahovic was connected to Arsenal.

Vlahovic moved to Juve from Fiorentina in the middle of the 2021-22 season but has never quite found the same form.

He has only scored 53 goals in 123 games with La Vecchia Signora, and some believe he could be on the move.

Some reports said PSG was moving in on the Serbian, but Perrot denied those. It is important to note that he did not say that they are not interested, as he did with Gyokeres, but simply that the reports of them working on a deal are not true at the moment.

Another thing to highlight is that the club already has its eye on other players, like PSG’s interest in another Manchester United superstar.
