PSG continue their 2024-2025 season, but they are keeping an eye on the opportunities offered by the transfer market.
The Parisians, led by Luis Campos, are always vigilant both in the European market and the American one, specifically in South America.
In fact, we recently spoke about PSG’s interest in Rodrygo, the Brazilian winger playing for Real Madrid, who is also on Manchester City’s radar.
Not long ago, Paris Saint-Germain also showed interest in Bruno Guimaraes from Newcastle United, but it seems the midfielder is no longer a priority for the Parisian club.
Now, PSG could find themselves facing Tottenham and other English clubs in a ‘battle’ for the signing of a Colombian talent.
PSG and Tottenham interested in Richard Rios
According to CaughtOffside, Tottenham have joined the race to sign Richard Rios, the Colombian midfielder from Palmeiras.
The report indicates that Spurs are the favourites to secure the signing of the talented South American playmaker.
It also mentions West Ham and Nottingham Forest as clubs interested in Rios.
Recently, Antena 2 (h/t Parisinos.net) reported that PSG made an offer of €20 million to secure the player’s signature, but the proposal was rejected.
The main obstacle for any interested club is the high release clause set by Palmeiras for Rios, which is €100 million.
Richard Rios’ numbers
So far this season in the Brazilian top division, Rios has started five matches and scored two goals.
In the 2024 campaign, he played 14 matches, averaging 56 minutes per game. During that season, Rios registered an 82% pass accuracy.
Additionally, he averaged 1.9 tackles, 3.9 ball recoveries, and 0.8 interceptions per match.
Previously, Richard Rios played for Flamengo, Guarani, and Mazatlan FC.
