PSG are off to an extraordinary start in 2025, establishing themselves as one of the most competitive teams in the 2024-25 season.
Under Luis Enrique, the club has proven to be a serious contender in both Ligue 1 and the UEFA Champions League, drawing comparisons to European giants such as Premier League leaders Liverpool and La Liga dominators Real Madrid.
PSG’s strength lies not only in its cohesion as a team, but also in the individual impact of its players. One of the standout names is Joao Neves, who has emerged as one of the great figures in world football.
His statistics and performance put him on par with, and even above, talents such as Jude Bellingham and Ryan Gravenberch. His arrival is proof of the excellent work Luis Enrique has done to strengthen the squad.
PSG will not make any further signings in January, focusing on the season with their current squad
According to Le Parisien, PSG have decided not to make any further signings in this winter transfer window, postponing any additional additions until the summer.
Instead, the focus is on completing two key departures: the loan of centre-back Milan Skriniar to Fenerbahce and the possible departure of Marco Asensio.
Skriniar is looking for the minutes he has not been able to get under Luis Enrique, while Asensio could leave due to the high level shown by players such as Kang-In Lee, Bradley Barcola and new arrival Kvaratskhelia.
Focused on the present, but also on the winter transfer window
Despite fans’ expectations for an additional reinforcement, especially at right-back as a replacement for Achraf Hakimi, PSG have decided to focus on the winter transfer market to plan for the 2025-26 season.
All this leaves a lot of dissatisfaction for the Parisian fans, who were hoping to get at least one signing in the defensive zone of the team.
Since, setbacks could play against them in any game and without a defensive variant on the bench, the team could suffer or even fail in the season.
This strategy allows the club to maintain stability and make the most of its current squad.
