According to RMC Sport, speaking to journalists, Luis Enrique reflected on PSG’s recent form and his aspirations for the team.

A trophy to start the year

“I think we had a solid first half of the season,” he stated. “We’re in a good position as we head into the second half.” His ambitions remain as ambitious as ever: “We aim to win every trophy. It’s challenging, but we’re excited.”

With PSG set to play almost every three days this month, Enrique emphasised the importance of utilising the entire squad. “Success doesn’t depend on 11 players but the whole team,” he remarked.

On Monaco, Enrique acknowledged the quality of their opponents. “The last match against them was thrilling. This will be different — it’s a final. I expect a great contest.”

Building for success

Luis Enrique’s comments also hinted at a broader strategic shift within PSG. “The club’s project remains clear. We’re focused on high-level signings that fit our philosophy,” he said, praising the club’s evolving transfer policy.

Additionally, he expressed confidence in players like Kang-In Lee, highlighting his versatility and progress since joining PSG. “His quality is unquestionable,” Enrique noted.

The coach also reflected on the unique advantage of playing in Qatar, likening it to a home atmosphere. “It feels like home here,” he said, though he remained cautious about whether it would provide a competitive edge.

For now, Luis Enrique is keeping his focus on the next match and the rumoured PSG interest in an Aston Villa player.
