Senny Mayulu has played in almost all outfield positions this season, thanks to the coaching style of Luis Enrique, and has excelled in all of them. The youth sensation from the PSG Academy is already making headlines on the global stage.

The gaffer started the season by playing Mayulu as a false 9, a role in which he excelled considerably during the absence of Ousmane Dembélé; Mayulu netted a decisive strike during the UEFA Champions League clash between PSG and Spanish side Barcelona.

The twenty-year-old has also been deployed as a makeshift right back in the absence of regular Achraf Hakimi. Before the outing against RC Lens, a game in which PSG clinched the Ligue 1 title, Enrique said about Mayulu, as reported by Foot Mercato, “The first thing you need at PSG is the engine. You have to be able to be a number 9, number 8, number 6, number 2…”

Continuing his appreciation of the youngster, the gaffer further said, “You have to have the engine like Hakimi, Warren… Senny has it too. He has the physical and technical ability to be an important player in the team.”

Luis Enrique further expressed his happiness about a PSG youth graduate’s success, “I’m always happy when a PSG youth player does a good job.”

Mayulu, on his part, has consistently repaid the faith his manager has shown in him. In the game against RC Lens, playing at right back, the youngster won nine out of thirteen duels, created six chances, completed 90% of his passes and registered eight ball recoveries and two completed dribbles. The French club will surely be banking on this excellent form of its academy graduate for years to come.
