Arsenal overtake Liverpool as preferred destination for PSG’s Bradley Barcola

Arsenal emerge as a more possible destination over Liverpool for PSG's €70million forward

Premier League side Arsenal have emerged as a more likely destination for PSG‘s Bradley Barcola over Liverpool.

According to a report by L’Équipe, a move to the Gunners’ squad has become a real possibility for Barcola, who has been linked with Liverpool for several weeks.

The Merseyside club are stepping back a bit as they are rethinking the arrival of a player who can overshadow youth talent Rio Ngumoha next season. Considering this scenario, Liverpool might look for a right winger, thereby ending their search for a left-flanker. This decision will tilt Barcola’s future toward Arsenal.

The 23-year-old has become a fourth-choice forward in Luis Enrique’s selection process at PSG, as he is largely unhappy with his game time. The Spanish coach sent a clear message to the Frenchman in Les Parisiens’ last match against Lens, taking him off at half-time for an unimpressive attacking performance. Barcola has fallen behind Désiré Doué, Ousmane Dembele, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in the line to start up front. Clearly, the Olympique Lyon academy graduate has underperformed when compared to the other three.

Arsenal and PSG are focusing on the Champions League final for now, and neither side is interested in negotiations before their respective seasons end. PSG’s director of football, Luis Campos, has decided to stall all new transfer talks and contract extensions until May 30 to make an informed decision on each. While Barcola’s future will be clear after this month, the contract renewals of Dembele, Mayulu, and Chevalier have also faced a roadblock.
