It is no secret that PSG’s attack hasn’t been to the level they wanted this season, and they might look back to a summer target in order to try and bolster it.
Around noon in Paris, multiple reporters, but first Fabrizio Romano, dropped reports about Paris Saint-Germain re-engaging with Napoli for a deal for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
They were very close to signing him in the summer, but they couldn’t get over the final hurdle with Napoli. With the player open to a January exit from Italy, PSG tries to seal the deal this time.
PSG wants another go at a Khvicha Kvaratskhelia deal

Over the summer they were extremely close to signing him, but they were not able to get Napoli to agree. Aurelio De Laurentiis is known for being a very tough negotiator, and he was only willing to sell the winger for a price tag that exceeded 120 million.
PSG was obviously not willing to agree to such a massive figure, so the deal fell through even though reporters suggested that Kvaratskhelia was on the verge of agreeing to personal terms.
Since then Napoli has tried to extend him, but he has never agreed to any of the offers they threw his way.
While Loic Tanzi reports that English clubs, potentially Manchester City and Manchester United, are going to provide tough competition for the Georgian’s signature, Romano reports that the current negotiations on personal terms are going well between Kvaratskhelia and Paris. This means that it likely comes down to striking a deal with Napoli again.
Romano said a deal would likely cost around 80 million euros, a much more reasonable price than the 120 million they requested in the summer.
He also reported that Milan Skriniar could be included in a deal. It was reported a few days ago that he was close to joining a different club, but it seems that he could be put on hold in order to try to include him in this deal.
While his current salary is too expensive, Napoli made him an offer that is currently lower than his salary at PSG, but the Slovakian is hoping PSG can still pay him some to compensate for losing the high salary he earns in Paris.
What would this deal mean for Paris Saint-Germain?
Kvaratskhelia is one of the best wingers in the world, and he would create tough competition at PSG. While both Bradley Barcola and Ousmane Dembele are capable of playing on both wings, the insertion of Kvaratskhelia into the squad means one of them will have to be benched.
Both French wingers have struggled as of late, so perhaps more competition could bring them into better form again.
The player who would be hurt the most by this is Kang-In Lee, who has been linked with England, and one of Barcola or Dembele being removed from the starting lineup means he would be pushed down to the fourth winger in Luis Enrique’s preference.
It will not be easy with Napoli wanting a large fee and English clubs on his tail, but a Kvaratskhelia deal is the type of move that can entirely alter PSG’s season.
