Paris Saint-Germain continued their impressive Ligue 1 campaign with a commanding 3-1 win against Olympique Lyon at the Parc des Princes.
The victory solidified PSG’s position at the top of the table, extending their lead to seven points over their closest challengers, Olympique de Marseille and AS Monaco.
With 37 points from 15 matches, the Parisians remain the dominant force in the league this season.
A stellar first half
The match started with high intensity as PSG showcased their attacking prowess early on. The standout performer of the night, Désiré Doué, played a pivotal role in PSG’s opening goal.
In the 8th minute, Doué executed a brilliant run down the left wing, delivering a pinpoint assist to Ousmane Dembélé, who slotted the ball home to give PSG a 1-0 lead.
Six minutes later, Doué was in the spotlight again. After another surging run, he was fouled inside the box, earning a penalty for PSG.
Vitinha stepped up confidently and converted from the spot, doubling PSG’s advantage in the 14th minute.
However, a momentary lapse in PSG’s defense allowed Lyon to respond. In the 40th minute, a superb pass from Ryan Cherki found Georges Mikautadze, who beat Gianluigi Donnarumma with a clinical finish to make it 2-1 before halftime.
Second-half control and a late finish
The second half saw Lyon push forward in search of an equalizer, but PSG’s defense held firm. The home side effectively countered Lyon’s advances, creating several opportunities to extend their lead but failing to capitalize until the dying moments.
