PSG should look at Odsonne Edouard as backup option for Luis Enrique

Former PSG player Odsonne Edouard could change teams and has recently been linked to Celtic, although media outlets doubt the Scottish club’s financial capacity to complete his signing.

According to the Daily Record, Edouard could return to Parkhead only if a financial agreement is reached, something that seems complicated considering the high salary the French forward earns at Crystal Palace.

Amid the rumors surrounding Gonçalo Ramos‘ future at Paris Saint-Germain and the imminent permanent sales of Randal Kolo Muani and Marco Asensio, could Edouard be a good alternative for Luis Enrique?

Odsonne Edouard might be a good alternative for Luis Enrique’s PSG

Odsonne would not only be returning home if he came back to the Parc des Princes, but he is also a ‘titi’ (academy graduate) who genuinely progressed and became a prolific striker abroad.

In 104 appearances in the Scottish Premiership, Edouard recorded 60 goals and 24 assists. In the Premier League, he couldn’t deliver the expected performance, registering 18 goals and five assists in 99 appearances.

However, in a context where he would be a backup, Luis Enrique could likely bring out the best in him when needed, especially in Ligue 1. Still, for now, there are no reports indicating this is a real possibility.
