AS Monaco 2-4 PSG: Paris Saint-Germain player ratings

PSG continued their league commitments in the middle of the week with a visit to AS Monaco at the Stade Louis II.

After Luis Enrique issued a warning to the PSG players, making it clear that they must not relax too much, the Spaniard fielded a fresh starting XI for this match.

The last two impressive performances by Desire Doue paid off, as the Frenchman appeared as a starter in this encounter.

However, he was deployed in the ‘false 9’ position, despite having shone as a left winger in the previous match against Lyon. For this fixture, Bradley Barcola reclaimed the starting spot on that flank.

Let’s move on to the individual ratings for the Parisian players.

AS Monaco vs PSG – Player ratings: Goalkeepers

N/A – Gianluigi Donnarumma

He made two saves in 22 minutes before being brutally struck in the face by Wilfried Singo’s studs. Surprisingly, the Monaco full-back was not sent off. Matvey Safonov replaced the Italian after the incident.

7 – Achraf Hakimi

He created danger with a key pass and a great chance created. He also provided an assist. Even without having his best game, he stood out.

5 – Marquinhos

A match marred by his handball in the box, which led to a penalty and, consequently, an own goal. Nothing in attack, aside from a shot on goal.

6 – Willian Pacho

Better than Marquinhos, without a doubt, but not exceptional either. The good things you expect from a defender, Pacho has them; 2 clearances, 3 blocked shots, 3 interceptions, and 2 tackles in total.

5 – Warren Zaire-Emery

6 – Joao Neves

It wasn’t his best match, but it wasn’t bad either. Joao Neves created danger with two key passes during the 65 minutes he played before being substituted by Lucas Hernandez. Apart from that, not much more.

7 – Vitinha

The best midfielder for PSG in the match. 95% passing accuracy, 8 out of 9 successful long passes, and he pressed constantly throughout the game.

We could see him all over the pitch. That said, it wasn’t his best performance by any means.

6 – Fabian Ruiz

8 – Ousmane Dembele

He created danger with four key passes and scored a brace. He also scored against Lyon, so, despite not shining too much in either of these matches, we can say that Dembele is enjoying a good spell.

7 – Desire Doue

After Desire Doue scored in the PSG vs RB Salzburg match and delivered another outstanding performance against Lyon, the Frenchman found the net once again.

To be honest, after his goal, he seemed less influential, but he still did his job.

5 – Bradley Barcola

Unable to make much of an impact for PSG, the young Frenchman only managed one shot on goal. After not starting against Lyon, Barcola will need to step up if he is to convince Luis Enrique once again.
